1905

The Colaert Frères company was created in 1905 in Steenbecque, in French Flanders, by the Colaert brothers. This family business specialized in the manufacture of leaf springs and axle U-bolts for industrial and agricultural vehicles. In the 1950s, it was the leader of the French market.

1954

At the same time, it was in 1954 that the Italian group A.D.R. was born in Uboldo, near Milan. The small family factory then specialized in mechanical subcontracting. A few years later, in 1967, it began mass production of axles for agricultural equipment and small vehicles for the Italian market.

1990

In response to growing demand, the Italian market is becoming too small for A.D.R. which then launches on the European countries. He then met Mr. Colaert, director of Colaert Frères, who was trying to separate from his axles department. The Italian industrialist therefore bought out this activity and renamed it Colaert Essieux. The activity of the company started in September 1990.

1995

The old premises of the axles part of Colaert Frères in Steenbecque very quickly became too small and it was decided to build a new factory a few meters from the historic site. The new structure is approximately 10,000 m². The investments were very important, in particular for the park of machine tools, all with digital controls which made it possible to obtain rational assembly lines. It is also equipped with a laboratory for carrying out analyzes as well as mechanical and three-dimensional tests.

De nos jours

After several expansions and adjustments to our production lines, the current area is 30,000 m². Thanks to constant innovation in its production, Colaert Essieux has been able to remain the leader in France and Europe. The development of new products that are always more efficient and at the cutting edge of technology as well as the complete satisfaction of our customers are the two guiding principles of our philosophy.

A synergy has been established between the staff of Colaert Essieux and the staff of the ADR group, particularly in terms of product know-how and industrial know-how. The ADR group is now organized with more than twelve establishments located in Italy, France, England, Poland, China, Brazil, Canada, Spain, Australia and India. These globally occupy a covered area of 200,000 square meters and employ 1,500 people by selling their own productions to more than 50 countries around the world.
